GLORIA MIRAZO - Immediate Past President & Treasurer
Born in Mexico to Luis and Gloria Mirazo, Gloria immigrated with her parents to Sacramento, CA at the age of six from Mexico. Her father worked 3 jobs to support their family. Gloria always looked up to her hard working father and wanted to be successful and be able to help her parents. Her parents instilled in her that with education she would open doors and succeed. For the next 10 years of her life she buried herself in books and school as well as many extracurricular activities from volunteer work to working as a lifeguard. With her hard work and achievements she went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Immediately after graduation at Berkeley she began work for Wells Fargo. She has been with Wells Fargo for nearly seven years in financial services working as a Sales Manager for the mortgage division of Wells Fargo. She has climbed in her work places and is considered amongst the top of her peers. Not only has she excelled at her work place but Gloria is also a community leader as the current president of the National Latina Business Women’s association-Sacramento and she has been involved in many Hispanic community projects. Serving her community is one of her passions. With her spare time she loves to spend time with her two dogs and enjoy traveling and camping. She believes that the support from her family throughout her life have made her the woman she is today. She is currently completing her MBA at Drexel University in Sacramento. Gloria was the first recipient of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Master’s grant in 2009 and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Drexel University, Sacramento. Although it’s challenging and demanding to work full time and complete an MBA she is passionate about her community and continues her involvement despite the time constraints of also being a student.
KATRINA SALAZAR - Founding Member
Katrina is the owner of KL Salazar Company that specializes in project-based CFO services for small and medium sized companies within the Sacramento region. Ms. Salazar provides her clients with customized financial analysis and financial and management consulting services. In addition, she also teaches accounting at Cosumnes River Community College and Sacramento City Community College.
Previously a senior audit manager with the Reznick Group, Ms. Salazar has more than 15 years experience in audit, tax and finance for a variety of public and private organizations. Her industry experience includes commercial and residential real estate, non-profit organizations, health care networks, publishing (print, audio and video), construction contractors, employee benefits plans, food processors and distributors, and the hospitality industry. She is a licensed California Certified Public Accountant as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Rotary Club of Sacramento. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Salazar has held numerous leadership roles with non-profits, including CFO of one of the 20th largest Red Cross Chapters in the United States and former board positions as the Treasurer of the Sacramento YWCA and Northern Virginia Commercial Real Estate Women.
Ms. Salazar graduated from the University of Redlands in California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She also studied economics at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Currently, she is completing her MBA at Drexel University’s Sacramento campus. Katrina is married to Roger Salazar and the proud parent of two children.
Rosanna Garcia - Board Member
Rosanna began her real estate career in 1986. She grew up in real estate as her family business Garcia Realty began in 1964 in Sacramento CA. Garcia Realty was the first Hispanic owned real estate company in Sacramento. In addition to representing buyers and sellers, Rosanna also manages property for her family business and clients as well. Rosanna and her family have been a constant in the Sacramento Hispanic community, beginning with the founding of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SHCC), Mexican American Educational Association (MAEA) and Mexican American Alcoholic Program ( MAPP). The legacy continues with Rosanna and her brother Franco as they are the next generation of family business owners and community volunteers as demonstrated by their parents before them.
Rosanna is a member and past president of the National Association of Women Business Owners Sacramento Valley. She is also the Chair for their annual signature event the Outstanding Women Leader (OWL) Awards banquet.
She is a member of the Sacramento Association of Realtors, CA Association of Realtors & National Association of Realtors
She is consistently in the top 10% of Realtors in Sacramento what is known as the Master’s Club
She is a member of the National Latina Business Women’s Association
She is a graduate of the University of San Francisco
Rosanna loves living in Midtown with her husband Jeff and her two big dogs Maggie and Fred!
Valerie Reynoso Piotrowski - Board Member
Valerie Reynoso Piotrowski (PUH TRAU SKI) is the director of foundations and corporate relations for the Salvation Army. An international movement, The Salvation Army’s message is based on the Bible, its ministry is motivated by the love of God, and its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Valerie’s career began as a writer for California Governor George Deukmejian upon completing her education at the University of Southern California and Cosumnes River College. Valerie served the Governor throughout both of his terms of office, and was named Deputy Director of Communications of the State Employment Development Department at age 26, becoming the youngest deputy director in California State Government history. Her leadership in pioneering the use of innovative public relations tools for government programs earned accolades in the Los Angeles Times and recognition through myriad awards statewide. Valerie was named an “Outstanding Young Woman of America” three consecutive years and was noted in McCall’s magazine as an outstanding woman leader.
Following her service in California State Government, Valerie was named vice-president of a local public relations firm, where she directed media campaigns for candidates for local office, professional athletes, nonprofit organizations and local ballot measures, including the successful Measure H, “Save the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.” She also served as a corporate advertising manager and social editor for Comstock’s magazine for 10 years.
A lifelong Sacramento region resident (with the exception of time in Los Angeles for college), award-winning writer, publicist and fundraiser, Valerie has been active in a number of nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years, including service as president of the board of directors for the Sacramento SPCA, Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army Sac Metro Advisory board and the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Valerie currently serves on the Mercy Foundation Community Council and the Lincoln Club of Sacramento board of directors, and is the immediate past president of the National Latina Business Women Association, Sacramento Chapter. Valerie is also a proud member of the Rotary Club of Sacramento, the Sacramento Senator Lions Club and the National Women’s Political Caucus, Sacramento Chapter.
She and husband John reside in El Dorado Hills with their three beloved dogs, Lexi, Buster and Jenna, and are active in their philanthropic support of a number of community and charitable causes.
